Waterfront Property in Egypt's North Coast

by Admin on August 13, 2018

Egypt's North Coast is quickly becoming a holiday destination that is in par with Greek, Italian and French beach resorts - with the advantage of being much more affordable to own a beachfront holiday home.

Egypt’s North Coast refers to the 300 mile stretch of the Mediterranean shoreline from Alexandria to the Libyan border. Over the years, the North Coast has become a favoured destination for Egyptians to flee the heat and traffic of Cairo in the summer. Increasing numbers of Arab and European tourists now flock to this pristine coastline to enjoy the cooler weather which is a lot milder than the Red Sea in the summer months. The area has seen the launch of newer upscale resorts offering flawless chalets and villas on white sands against the mesmerising turquoise sea.

As Egypt’s tourism sector recovers and shows strong growth, more investors are convinced of its promising long-term prospects particularly in the North Coast, seen by many as the up and coming destination. There are only a handful of international hotels currently operating in the North Coast such as Rixos Alamein where standard rooms cost around $300 a night and is fully booked through August by returning Egyptian regulars. In December 2016, AccorHotels signed a hotel management deal with local property developer ARCO for four new hotels on Egypt’s North Coast. The hotels – Fairmont Fouka Bay, Swissotel Fouka Bay, Novotel Al Alamein City, and Ibis Styles Al Alamein City – will bring 1,100 new rooms and 350 residences to the North Coast. The first to open will be the Novotel Al Alamein City in 2018, while the Fairmont Fouka Bay will open in 2019, followed by the Swissotel Fuka Bay in 2022.

With its rapidly growing potential, the North Coast may soon become a world-class international summer destination that will rival the French Riviera and Spain’s Costa del Sol. The advantage in Egypt will be the significantly lower cost to purchase seafront property. Many Egyptians have already bought their summer homes in one of many new waterfront developments offering payment plans of up to 10 years. As developers compete to offer attractive master plan designs and a variety of home types, one becomes spoilt for choice.  The amenities on offer are also quite impressive ranging from water sports and beach clubhouses to international aqua parks, shopping malls and a full range of dining and entertainment facilities.
